October Learning Update

Hello Grade 2 Families! Welcome to our classroom blog! Here is what we have been learning about so far this year: Literacy - Story Writing with a Character, Setting and Problem; Nouns, Adjectives and Verbs; and Main Idea or Lesson of Stories Math  - Patterning - Repeating and Increasing Patterns, Pattern Core, Pattern Rule, Attributes (the Pattern changing by Colour, Shape and Size); Numbers to 50 - Place Value (Tens and Ones), Comparing Numbers with Mr. Great (Greater Than, Less Than and Equal To), Odd and Even, Skip Counting by 2s, 5s and 10s Science  - Hot and Cold Temperatures - Using Thermometers, Identifying Hot and Cold Changes (Jell-o changing from a powder to a liquid with heat and then changing to jello with cold; Ice Cream melting when heat is applied), Seasonal Temperature Changes and how we can Dress for the Weather, Adjusting Temperature in a House or School (turning on a fan to cool down, turning on a heater to warm up)  Social Studies  - Me on the Map Project - Our Com
